Pea-lates and Pinot – the balanced workout of dreams!
We recently discovered that snack-lovers across the country are hitting the gym to ‘earn’ the right to indulge in their favourite treats, adopting a credit-debit approach to exercise.
Here at Yushoi, we believe life is all about balance. That’s why we created Pea-lates and Pinot; the workout of dreams that allows you to burn off calories as you’re consuming them!
Pea-lates and Pinot is the perfect balance between fun and exercise for those who want to live a healthy lifestyle, but also love snacks and wine. Working with a leading Pilates instructor, we’ve developed the ultimate exercise experience that incorporates your favourite yummy snacks and refreshing Pinot Grigio into a fun Pilates session.

Side Lying Leg Lifts
Leg lifts are great to add to your daily routine. These quick, simple movements can be done anywhere and are perfect for working those glutes.
To complete the perfect leg lift, start by lying on your side with your body in a straight line. Hold the bag of Yushoi in your top hand, keeping your arm as straight as possible.
Then, raise your leg slowly towards the ceiling before gently lowering it back down. Repeat the exercise for your chosen number of repetitions then switch to the other side. Want more of a challenge? Test your balance and replace the bag of Yushoi with a bowl of snacks.
Perfect for working on your strength and balance, for the tree pose you’ll need a glass of wine or a bowl of Yushoi.
Start in a comfortable standing position, stood up nice and straight with your feet hip distance apart. Hold the bowl of Yushoi or glass of wine in one hand. Transfer your weight over to your right leg and place your left foot on the inside of your right leg. Slowly raise your arms whilst keeping your balance and your head raised.
Try and complete the movement without wobbling too much, then repeat with your other leg.
When done properly, sit ups are great for building those abs whilst working on your core muscles.
Start with your legs in the table top position, as seen in the video, and balance the bag of Yushoi on your lower legs.
Place your hands behind your head and gently raise yourself into a sit up position. Repeat the movement for your desired number of repetitions, which you can begin to increase each time you complete the exercise.
If you really want to test your strength and balance, replace the bag of Yushoi with a bowl; be warned the snacks may not stay in the bowl! Don’t forget to reward yourself with a tasty snack.
The boat pose is also great for working your core strength and can be done alone or with a partner. If you’re working with a partner, face each other as you carry out the movement.
Start sitting with your feet and legs in the position show in the video. Make sure you keep your feet together, then gently raise them upwards.
Really test that strength by raising the bag of Yushoi above your head, holding the position for as long as you can.
For an added incentive – be sure to reward yourself with a snack each time you complete the windmill balance.
Start with your feet shoulders width apart. Gently lean forward, reaching towards the bowl of Yushoi on the floor in front of you, with your other arm raised behind you.
As you reach the bowl, grab your snack and return to the standing position. Eat, then repeat!
To finish, stretch out your body and work on that balance with the dancers pose.
Start in a standing position, lift one foot backwards towards your back. Reach backwards with your hand and grasp the outside of the foot with your hand. Make sure you steady your balance as you go.
With your free hand, hold your bag of Yushoi and gently raise your free arm forwards. Stay in the pose for 20 to 30 seconds, then release your hold and place your foot back to the floor.
Work through the exercises in order or mix them up to create your own balanced workout. Don’t forget to treat yourself to a bowl of Yushoi and a glass of wine throughout! You’ve earnt it.
